 Senior Associate Engineer Scm

Job Description

Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Authorizes purchase orders, approve payments, and responds to client issues to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly.

Buyer will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Executes processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement goals, including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, and / or program execution.
  • Review purchase requisitions, place purchase orders, issue change notices, review exception messages to ensure delivery of materials or services as necessary to adhere to production schedules.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
  • Interact with suppliers to communicate delivery expectations, forecasts, design changes, lead time management, and material expedites or delays to ensure suppliers meet Supplier on Time Delivery (OTD) goals.
  • Maintain material master records for assigned materials; ensure accurate PIR records, source lists, and promptly reconcile supplier invoices for payment.
  • Review and maintain internal/external vendor managed programs, direct ship programs, scheduling agreements and blanket orders.
  • Analyzes and reviews price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
  • Analyzes and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage a category of suppliers and associated spend
  • Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities.
  • Use MRP and EOQ skillset for buying appropriate quantities
  • Review part consumption characteristics to ensure appropriate planning parameters are maintained.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement opportunities
  • Review and maintain purchase order date accuracy and maintain MRP accuracy/health
  • Proactively drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) with the supply base
  • Provide real time status on key parts shortages and/or expedites
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, and delivery or invoice issues.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education requirements: Bachelors Degree (Engineering domain) Mechanical/ Electronics/ Industrial Engineering.
  • Tactical procurement
  • Preferred skills: negotiations, familiarity with SAP MRP systems
  • Preferred experience: Buying role, work with global suppliers -buy components in machining / sheet metals, Electronics, Electro Mechanical category of commodities.
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers.
