About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Sr. Database Administrator to manage robust and reliable enterprise data management system to support the Data-driven decision-making organization. In this role, you will work as a core member of interdisciplinary teams to deliver data services using Cloud/On-Prem RDBMS, Data Warehouse Solution and Reporting platform to achieve enterprise-wide strategic objectives.
Job description:
Maintains cloud and on-prem database solutions (Snowflake, SQL, etc.)
Develops database solutions by designing proposed system defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications
Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
Monitors overall database usage and recommends hardware adjustments to ensure efficient system operation
What You'll Need:
Hands on experience administrating Snowflake
Strong relational SQL and NoSQL experience
DB and SQL performance tuning
Understanding of OLTP, OLAP, and BI
Data lake architecture experience
Knowledge of security (SAML, SCIM, OAuth, OpenID, Kerberos, Policies, entitlements etc.)
Experience with architecting and maintaining high availability production systems
Experience with developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations and alerts
Scripting experience (Python, Bash, others)
Strong communication and written skills
Self-starter with ability to take direction and manage tasks with minimal supervision within an energized, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
Experience implementing Snowflake external functions
Implement/support automation for production deployment in Snowflake
Implement Snowflake standards and methodologies for DB security
Implement Snowflake user /query log analysis and alerts
Implement data encryption/decryption/masking policies to protect data
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
4+ years of Snowflake or Other Database Administration
Snowflake Advanced certification and Snowpro core certification desirable
Excellent communication skills. Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
