Linear Quality Control Overview

Brief Description: The Quality Control department of Deluxe Media Services is involved in quality checks & verification of home entertainment products such as Blu-ray, DVD & Digital Distribution (online streaming services). The intention of this testing is to achieve 100% compliance with the Hollywood industry standards by employing the most thorough & sophisticated quality testing program in the home entertainment industry thereby providing our customers with the best home entertainment experience through our products.

As part of this process, the EQC or Emulation QC team conducts extensive testing on all types of content i.e., Audio, Video, & Subtitles to ensure that all these content meet the highest standards of quality set by the home entertainment industry. In other words, Quality Engineers perform 100% watch throughs (i.e., watch the content from start to finish) to ensure that all content meet the requirements of the defined standard checklists so that there are no audio, video or subtitle issues that could disrupt the viewing experience of our customers.

Example: Verify that the audio level was consistent throughout the video.
Verify that subtitle positioning is consistent throughout the video.

Round 1:
Written technical test covering general knowledge questions regarding DVD & Blu-ray related terminologies, audio-video related questions, and few questions which are very general in nature. This round will also test the candidates English grammar skills.

Round 2:
Technical hands-on test comprising of a set of audio-video clips which would have commonly-seen audio-video related errors (such as digital video corruptions, A/V out-of-sync errors, disturbances & distortions, etc) which the potential candidates need to identify and write down in the provided answer sheet along with accurate timecodes where the issue is occurring in addition to clear, concise & meaningful issue descriptions.
