About Team
The RBS is an integral part of Amazon online product lifecycle and buying operations. The team is designed to ensure Amazon remains competitive in the online retail space with the best price, wide selection and good product information. The team's primary role is to create and enhance retail selection on the worldwide Amazon online catalog. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience.
Overview of the role
The Business research analyst (RA) will be responsible for continuous improvement projects across the RBS teams leading to each of its delivery levers. The long-term goal of the RA role is to eliminate Defects that impact selling partners or customer experience, and secondary goal is to enhance GMS (General merchandise sales)/ FCF (Free cash Flow). This will require collaboration with local and global teams, which have process and technical expertise. RA is an Independent Contributor (IC) to perform a Big Data Analysis to identify defect patterns / process gaps for complex problems, to create long-term solutions to eliminate defects / issues, and to report impact / results. RA should work across VP teams , regional and/or cross-regional organizations to drive improvements. Leads projects and opportunities across the Operations (FCs, CS, Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering) that are business critical, and may be global in nature
Key Responsibilities for this Role:-
. Works independently with minimal guidance and help from scientists, Economists and Engineers. Identify & evaluate potential risks/obstacles
. Solve a business problem End to End for RBS or Team goal independently, which needs to work with multiple teams/multiple areas or countries.
. Leads business and technical discussions regarding their part of the Projects.
. Prepares and give detailed data-driven business reviews to senior management. This includes ongoing project/program status reports as well as capturing requirements from stakeholder teams (across amazon).
. Coordinates design effort between internal team and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for their part of project for Amazon's network
. Recommends improvements to the way projects are scoped, built, tested and deployed within the Org
. Define solution roadmap evidenced through MVP (Minimum viable product) for tech feature / process improvement implementation.
. Facilitates technical/ operational trade-offs between short term team needs and long term business needs.
. Develop models using readymade algorithms along with customization based on the given business needs
. Demonstrated expertise in SQL, Handling large data sets, Statistical analysis and ML/DL models in Python. Expert in using deep learning and Data Science methodologies and capable of making fundamental changes to the model to solve the business problem.
. Mentor Junior Research Analyst (RA) and trainees to be excel on the tech skills. Contribute to RA hiring's.
. Measure the outcome/progress, present updates and communicate milestones in a structured manner to customers /Business partners
. Set data strategy for given problem: data needs to be feed into algorithm, data transformation and feature engineering

. Machine learning (Deep Learning)
. Automate the report generation process though use of tools and programing techniques: such as SQL, SAS, DW concepts & advanced Excel. Mine Data Warehousing (DW) platforms
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
. Minimum 3 Years relevant experience on analytics and delivering project using ML, Deep learning, Python & SQL skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Master degree / MBA
. Experience on product development
. Expertise in Deep learning models
. Develop Multilanguage ML models using in-house algorithms.
