Job Description Summary
The Cyber Security and Networking Engineer is part of the Renewables Controls Platform team, which owns the wind turbine control system definition, component design, and validation for all GE Onshore Wind Turbines. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the wind turbine network architecture.Job Description
Essential responsibilities:
-Design, specify, and document the wind farm network architecture for new wind turbine platforms
-Be responsible for the technical design, fulfillment, and sustaining efforts for wind farm networking components
-Ensure the wind farm network meets all program requirements including cost, performance, and reliability
-Support wind farm cyber security vulnerability assessments and remediation activities
-Provide timely communication on significant technical issues or developments
-Work with a multi-disciplinary engineering development team that includes controls engineering, power conversion engineering, and electrical panel designers to specify the correct networking components for each application
-Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Minimum Requirements:
-Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
-Experience in an engineering capacity, particularly with Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
-Hands-on expertise with enterprise networking gear from Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar
-Expertise in one or more: network design, embedded systems, software design, ethical hacking
-Demonstrated ability to lead projects in a global, matrix organization
Desired:
-Master of Science Degree in Controls Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
-Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Advanced Infrastructure Certification
-Experience with industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET, MODBUS, OPC-UA, and IEC-61850
-Understanding of data acquisition systems, remote monitoring, and SCADA
-Strong oral and written communication skills
