The Emerging Technology team is tasked with applying industry best practices to the design, development, and deployment world-class software products.
As a software technical writer in the Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will produce high-quality developer documentation to enhance both internal and external customer experience.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Document cloud based platform APIs using OpenAPI specification such as Swagger.
- Create content including how-to topics, CLI reference pages, language references, troubleshooting guides, and solution cookbooks.
- Write conceptual overview, user guides, change logs and more.
- Deliver user documentation such as quick start guides, online help, tutorials, e-learning videos and animations for Thermo Fisher's software products
- Develop topic-based, structured, single-source documentation using XML
- Author and optimize learning content into reusable objects
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a technical writer with relevant experience and skills.
- Experience creating technical content for developers, DevOps professionals, and end users.
- Knowledge of HTML, Markdown and similar documentation technologies.
- Experience in creating Developer documentation / API or REST API Documentation.
- Familiarity with using Git or other version control systems.
- Experience reviewing and editing internal documentation written by engineers and other technical writers.
- Experience working with content management systems and XMetal.
- Possess good communication skills and should be proactive.
- Must be highly organized and pay attention to details.
- Experienced in single sourcing, topic based writing, and DITA
- Strong understanding of Lean/Agile/XP software development processes
- Ability to estimate the working time required to complete a task, or time required for a team to complete a task
Academic Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Master's degree or equivalent
Good To Have:
- Programming Java, XML, XSLT, CSS
