Join the team that brought you the Echo Show, a touch-screen enabled Alexa device that supports video calling, music, weather, and more! Our Echo Software team works on not only the Echo Show but other high-profile consumer electronics products including Fire TV, Kindle, and the Echo family of devices. We're just getting started, and we'd love to have you join us to bring innovative experiences to millions of customers. As a Software Development Manager in the Alexa Devices team, you will help drive innovation by developing features that present innovative speech-backed visuals on our Echo Show, Echo Spot, and similar screened Alexa devices.
Job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager on our team, you will have a highly visible opportunity to lead a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of critical new features on cloud and devices products. We'd love to talk to you if you have strong CS and coding fundamentals, interest in working with smart devices and smart home experience, structured Agile project management experience, passion for hiring and managing personnel, and experience creating and fulfilling a project vision for your team.
Basic Qualifications :
. 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
. 5+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
. 5+ years experience leading production software teams.
. Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
. Proficiency with at least one modern programming language.
. Solid CS fundamentals including algorithms, runtime analysis, OO design, code quality.
Preferred Qualifications :
. A strong track record of project delivery for large, ambiguous, cross-functional, projects.
. Strong technical credentials and deep hands-on technical expertise.
. Development experience with cloud services such as AWS
. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and proven methodologies for the full software development process (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
. Experience working in fast paced Agile environments.
. Excellent technical communication ability with peers and non-technical partners.
