Job Description
JOB PURPOSE (JOB SUMMARY):
Within Invesco undertakes business analysis and process design work as part of the Data Governance Team to support the assurance of data quality and metadata management. Works on data quality initiatives and projects across enterprise and supports teams in enhancing the quality of data. Develop solutions in line with the business needs and data governance principles. Develop deep understanding in Data governance & Metadata Management. Work closely with internal teams, data custodians and data owners to further enhance the metadata and tool capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- The primary tasks associated with this role are to use data quality tool to profile the project source data, cleanse and accurately check the project data, check for duplicate or redundant records, and provide exception management capabilities to business using Informatica data quality (IDQ)
- Responsible for data profiling, Scorecards and build custom and complex business data quality rules to support different business needs.
- Takes complete responsibility of design, development, testing, deploying, and documenting data quality procedures and the exception management processes with minimal support from the lead developer
- Work closely with data stewards, ETL developers, and business analysts to analyze and translate business needs into an data quality management architecture that seamlessly integrates with the current system and data assets with the new strategy
- Partner with data stewards and business teams to provide summary results of data quality analysis, which will be used to make decisions regarding how to measure business rules and quality of the data
- Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end investment management processes, the required data to support these processes, and the data quality and delivery issues that may impact the business on an on-going basis
- Help to compile management reporting dashboards of data quality metrics for the organization using reporting tools like Power B.I and others
- Develop the vision for an ever-evolving Data Quality improvement strategy that not only satisfies current needs but can be easily adapted to future needs as new sources of data input and requirements for data output are identified
- Support and address any issues or enhancement requests in stipulated time.
- Develop understanding on Metadata tool and processes to support various initiatives when desired
WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
- At least two years of experience as a data quality analyst/ developer
- Understands the Data Governance frame work and the role of Metadata and DQ tools
- Experience with data quality or metadata software tools - Informatica DQ, Informatica Power Center, Informatica EDC, Markit EDM
- Experience in working on reporting tools like - Power B.I, OBIEE, Tableau, etc
- An understanding of the concepts related to data base, data modelling and process flow design
- Has worked or has knowledge in a data lakes environment
SKILLS / OTHER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Proven passion for the data quality and data management discipline
- Team player and works with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate well with different audiences with clarity and conciseness demonstrated by well-developed written and verbal skills, and the ability to deliver content to moderate-d groups
- Rich attention to detail to capture and communicate complex topics
- Ability to judge the significance of issues and escalate accordingly to Data Governance Managers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to utilize tools commonly available tools, e.g., PowerPoint or Visio, to diagram data or process flows
FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Graduate Degree in computer science or relevant experience in the technology
