JOB PURPOSE (JOB SUMMARY): To provide technical analyst and software engineering capabilities that support the workflow automation needs of Invesco's Investment Services business. Work will be focused on providing support and administration to 3rd party platforms and toolsets being implemented as part of a new Automation Practice within Investment Services to improve operational efficiency. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Provide technology support to the initial implementation and ongoing use of applications built on Appian, a cloud based, low code business process management (BPM) application suite
Have very good hands-on project experience in development using SAIL, Process Modelling, Integration components and Admin Console of Appian BPM suite.
Have relevant Database skills atleast in one of the databases like SQL Server, MY SQL or Oracle.
Provide technology sypport to implementations and ongoing use of Mulesoft and /or Spring Boot APIs which are used in Integrations of Appian with other applications
Complete all tasks related to technical analysis, building and unit testing, quality assurance, system test and implementation in accordance with Invesco's Enterprise Architecture standards
Work closely with business analysts, project managers, architects and other developers to design and implement automation solutions, leveraging Appian and Alteryx, that support the Investment Services business
Understand Investment Services business and make recommendations and technology suggestions to advance workflow automation
Understand architecture of applications in order to effectively troubleshoot problems and develop more efficient production processes.
Be prepared to carry out business analysis tasks to ensure that the development/change meets user requirements and expectations.
Prepare for and support user acceptance testing.
Perform quality assurance tests on the work of other developers.
Prepare all necessary documentation and processes to enable ongoing support of the systems.
Communicate with internal and external customers, supervisors and management using clear, user-friendly terminology (emails, chat, phone, meetings).
Assist project and line managers in producing estimates for the development phase of projects and enhancements.
FSA Training and Competence (UK Only): Approved Person No Covered by FSA Training and Competence No WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
Hours may include evenings and/or weekends
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally. Frequency and duration to be determined by manager.
WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum of 4-6 years of proven systems development experience in Appian BPM tool
Understanding of relational database design and development life cycle principles
Solid experience of working in project teams and with third party vendors
Desire to stay abreast of new development tools and methods
Experience developing and integrating API's and web services
Experience working in an agile scrum development environment preferred
Familiarity with business intelligence reporting tools preferred (PowerBI, Tableau) preferred
Familiarity with DevOps principals preferred
Familiarity with AWS Cloud technologies preferred

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems Computer Science is preferred or commensurate relevant work experience
