Job Description
VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), a VMware offering in exponential growth mode, is a hybrid cloud infrastructure platform to run modern workloads, from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps, in the private cloud, public cloud, and at the edge. VCF integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services, including support for modern composable hardware, to create a consistent, and dynamically configurable, infrastructure. We have ambitious goals to expand VCF infrastructure in a way that makes it simpler to run these modern workloads, which are distributed, hybrid, multi- cloud andelastic.Thatinvolves turning these full stack infrastructure clusters,hardware(s)plussoftware(s),into programmable, intelligent, intent-driven software endpoints. deployed, secured, and easily managed at scale, like a software CI/CDpipeline.Theinfrastructure also reconfigures or maintains itself on ongoing basis, to support these hybrid applications dynamic, elastic needs.
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and seasoned Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in testing Cloud software to join the VCF Solutions team.
As a member of the Solutions team, you will develop and execute End to End use cases on SDDC stack, analyze features and design changes, participate in CI/CD implementations. You will closely work with developers and Solution Architects team within R&D to deliver quality releases.
- Customer use case test execution and test vSphere Guest platform features
- Analyze functional requirements for the product understand customer use case scenarios and enhance coverage
- Define test strategies Test planning activities and execution.
- Design tests, enhance test automation framework and automate tests based on the code changes and integrate them into the continuous integration suite.
- Initiate and drive cross team/functional activities that help in improving technical expertise and knowledge sharing among the teams.
- Drive Initiatives & Innovations that helps drive process and efficiency improvements.
- Reproduce complex Customer problems and test customized releases to Customers.
- Participate in bug triage activities manage bugs, drive the activities for the bug to get a closure
Competencies & Key Skills:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering
- 8-12 years of industry experience with excellent understanding of cloud platform
- Solid experience and prior exposure to one of the products in VMWare Solution stack like NSX, vSAN, Horizon View, vRA, vROPs, VCD etc.
- Excellent understanding of Operating Systems concepts
- Strong programming proficiency in Java or Python is must have.
- Should have worked on Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins &/or Puppet
- Be organized, self-motivated and proactively manage time and tasks.
- Strong teamwork and excellent communication skills
- Ability to take informed risks as and when necessary & think out of the box.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
