Name of Posts Junior Research Fellow Number of posts 01 (One) Name of the Research Project Agricultural Chemistry, Peasants and pursuit for Agricultural Improvement in British India, 1870-1940s Name of sponsoring agency Indian National Science Academy Duration of the position Initially One year (extendable based on performance and availability of funds) Fellowship / Monthly compensation Rs.18,000/- + HRA Essential qualifications and experience Master s degree in modern Indian History/social sciences with minimum of 55% or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University) Need to have excellent writing skills in English. Understanding of written Hindi and preferably Bengali (not mandatory) NET qualified or with at least 2 years of research experience Desirable and Responsibilities Would be responsible for conducting archival research mainly in the Delhi NCR. Also for brief period in Kolkata and in Chennai as and when necessary. Have to write weekly research reports.
