The Integrations Platform team at PayPal is modernizing application integration and API Management capabilities and delivering them to software engineers at PayPal as self-service capabilities. Our platforms solve a wide variety of application integration use cases while managing and mitigating technical risks. We continuously improve the developer experience, reduce the time to market of application integration solutions, and improve governance of and visibility to data movement across the ecosystem. As the Integrations DevOps Lead you will be responsible for designing, implementing, enhancing and sustaining DevOps capabilities for the Integration platforms used at PayPal. As part of this you will be: ensuring the build and deployment capabilities enable software engineers to deploy high quality integration solutions with minimal overhead and risk. providing operational capabilities that enable software engineers to efficiently support their integrations, view the health of the platform and the integrations, and easily troubleshoot and resolve issues. enabling interoperability of the Integration Platforms with PayPal s enterprise DevOps capabilities continuously identifying and implementing improvements to developer experience, governance and efficiency. Primary responsibilities: Create roadmap for building and improving the continuous integration, continuous development and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD pipeline) of integration platforms Write technical requirements and lead software engineers in the development of build and deploy capabilities that developers easily adopt and that mitigate technical risks Write technical requirements and lead software engineers in the development of application integration operational capabilities that developers easily adopt and that mitigate technical risks Write requirements and lead software engineers in development of capabilities that allow the platform to efficiently scale to meet customer demand Measure and monitor developer experience and utilize KPIs to prioritize roadmap. Gain deep knowledge of the functional and non-functional capabilities of the integration platforms available to PayPal developers and serve as consultant to architects and engineers Gain deep understanding of the overall technical risks that must be managed in the building and operating of application integrations, with focus on DevOps concerns and serve as consultant to architects and engineers Identify opportunities to improve the developer experience and efficiency of the integration platforms, with focus on DevOps Assist rest of Integration Platforms team with implementing, enhancing and sustaining the platforms. Remain abreast of advancements and alternatives in application integration and DevOps technology and practices and apply to our platforms as appropriate
  • Minimum 7 years of application development and/or dev ops experience required. Experience with application integration solutions a plus.
  • Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure.
  • Experience with writing shell and python scripts
  • Experience in automating server creation, installing patches and migrating servers by writing custom scripts.
  • Experience configuring dev-ops tools such as Git Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, monitoring tools such as Splunk/Signalfx/Zabbix and knowledge of Puppet and Ansible.
  • Experience in managing server keys such as JKS, and encryption keys such as PGP
  • Experience with Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) or Enterprise Service Bus technologies preferred. Experience with Dell Boomi and/or MuleSoft a plus.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is plus.
  • Strong desire to provide high quality solutions for CI/CD and operations

Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to an audience with varying levels of technical skill and experience.
