Job Description
The Sourcing Function at is responsible to work with category & matrix functions to create long term sourcing strategy for each category/product, identify best partners, ensure the best value sourcing solutions and continuously work on cost improvements ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Being India's largest online marketplace and the most used e-commerce app in India, places the company in a unique position and gives this team a distinctive opportunity to Setup the sourcing supplier base for the specific category from scratch and build robust sourcing strategy to ensure all the dimension of product selection are met.
What this Job entails:
As a Sourcing Assistant Manager you will be working on:
- Supplier Mapping and Supplier Relationship Management
- Create Supplier data base of all potential suppliers for our needs
- Lead RFQs, audits and prototyping process to create business case for the shortlisted supplier(s)
- Responsible to present the final business case proposal, including Risk Assessment / Gap Analysis and plans to close these actions to Steering Group ensuring supplier start up decision is taken.
- Identify the clusters for supplier base and prioritize clusters - both domestic & international
Cost Management
- Responsible to work with Cost Break Down models for all products
- Responsible to drive cost improvement initiatives and deliver constant savings
- Benchmark cost data with market to deliver cost improvements
Associations and Collaborations:
Here the work of a Sourcing manager involves collaboration with the Quality, Operations and Finance teams to ensure a holistic outcome at the product delivery. The engagement of multiple stakeholders in functional domain within the company enables sourcing manager to focus on various initiatives of cost improvement, product quality and create a deep sense of ownership at every stage of work.
Qualifications and Experience:
- B.Tech/M.Tech/Diploma
- Min 2 to 4 years experience in Sourcing in General trade sector/ Consumable sector. (some examples but not limited to Aluminum foils, paper cups, tissue papers, Cleaning solutions/ Non Food segment etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of technology and business
- Ability to connect with people across teams & levels
- Strong bias for Action
- We works at a very rapid pace
- Strong in costing and negotiation.
- Willing to Travel
