Job Description
Responsibilities
- Act as single point of contact for proposal writing and development
- Perform detailed analysis and deconstruction of RFx documents; develop detailed proposal template (shell files)
- Collaborate with members of pursuit team to understand strategy and win themes
- Take ownership of miscellaneous action items, tasks, and assignments
- Work closely with content writers, SMEs, and industry verticals/horizontals to gather information and content specific to RFx requirements
- Manage the response by identifying writers, SMEs, and reviewers; manage the writing and reviewing process
- Edit and format content in agile fashion
- Work with graphics designers to develop and incorporate graphics into the response
- Produce complete and accurate responses that are compliant with client RFP requirements
- Publish the final, polished deliverables on client-specified platform, ensuring the documents are readable, formatted correctly to corporate brand standards, and client-focused.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- 5-10 years of progressively responsible capture and/or business development and proposal management experience to include at least 3 years leading an enterprise-level proposal organization
- Expert skills in Microsoft Word; advanced skill with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; experience with SharePoint and/or Teams for collaboration
- Demonstrated experience managing winning proposal efforts to include single contract awards, multiple awards, and task order proposals
- Experience working with and understanding complex concepts and solutions
- Must have the demonstrated ability to:
Implement structured, repeatable proposal processes that include training for proposal teams as required
Translate bid strategies into proposal narrative
Develop detailed proposal schedules, milestones, and plans along with managing all proposal activities required to meet them
Manage and effectively interact with a wide range of people at various levels and technical disciplines in a high-pressure work environment
Publish the client-facing response deliverables
- Related experience or training in project management, proposal management, and customer communication
Essential
- Bachelors degree in in English, journalism, business administration, or other writing-heavy discipline
- Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Impeccable English grammar skills ability to write clearly and edit self and others to get proposal into one voice with consistent American English grammar usage and style
- Highly motivated and results driven; self-driven and able to encourage others to deliver results consistently, on time, and within budget
Desirable
- Mastery of the proposal development process
- Exceptional analytical skills ability to develop and present complex data or information in a clear and simple format to all levels of management
- Organizational agility ability to develop and leverage effective relationships and networks; knows how to get things done through formal channels and informal network
- Demonstrated attention to detail in a complex and demanding environment
- Proposal automation tool experience such as Loopio, Qvidian, RFPIO, etc.
- Understanding of consultative IT sales and delivery process.
