Job Description

Summary :

The position is responsible for planning, development and implementation of marketing communications, to ensure desired positioning and engagement with existing and potential donors, in adherence to Plan Indias communications and brand guidelines. This includes development of copies and creatives for Resource Mobilisation, planning and execution of targeted campaigns/ events for donors, and exploring marketing opportunities (such as brand partnerships/ associations, cross leveraging of initiatives / partnerships for various donor segments, etc.)


Roles and Responsibilities

Digital Fundraising

  • Develop strategies for email, search, display, paid social and other digital marketing channels. Manage the cost effective and timely execution of digital fundraising campaigns and optimisation projects from beginning to end.
  • Lead the budgeting process for the digital fundraising programme. Make investment cases for new activity and growth to support decision making across the programme and fundraising. Pro-actively manage budgets, monitor and report on digital fundraising campaigns to ensure digital fundraising delivers on target.
  • Continually look for opportunities to push digital fundraising forward and deliver exceptional experiences for donors.
  • Identify potential new and innovative digital activities to recruit new supporters and maximise long-term net income, developing business cases and implementing tests as required.
  • Provide fundraising insight to help design and deliver the test and optimise programme on owned online assets (eg donation funnels and landing pages)

Strategic Planning For Marketing Communications

  • To conceptualise and develop strategy for Marketing Communications, aimed at positioning of Plan India and engagement with the various donor segments, in consultation with the Director Marketing & Resource Mobilisation
  • To operationalize and implement the Marketing Communications strategy, within the approved budgets
  • To maintain a current understanding of programmes/ projects, initiatives, campaigns/ events implemented by Plan India. To also undertake organisational and environmental analysis, and monitor resource mobilisation trends in Development sector, on a periodic basis
  • To draw from these insights to identify opportunities for brand associations/ partnerships and initiatives for various donor segments. To work with respective Resource Mobilisation (RM) teams to leverage such opportunities

Marketing Communications Management

  • To collaborate with the respective RM teams for mapping of donor journey, and development and implementation of segmented approach to donor communications
  • To conceptualize and develop communications products for Resource Mobilisation, incl. for Digital Fundraising these include pitches/ presentations, case studies, brochures, mailers/ posts, copies/ creatives for fundraising events/ campaigns, etc., as per requirement
  • To liaise with other functions, such as Communication, External Relations & Influencing, Programme Implementation, Programme Strategy & Policy, to seek requisite inputs for development of various communications products for Resource Mobilisation
  • To ensure adherence to the communications and brand policies/ guidelines of Plan India, across all Marketing Communications activities

Campaigns & Events for Resource Mobilisation

  • To conceptualise, develop and facilitate implementation of targeted campaigns/ events and Above The Line (ATL) and Below The Line (BTL) marketing initiatives for the donors.
  • To collaborate with RM teams, Communication, External Relations & Influencing and other functions to identify and leverage possibilities of linking of others initiatives being driven by Plan India to fundraising events/ campaigns
  • To regularly assess the impact and reach of various events/ campaigns/ initiatives, and devise and implement improvement plans for these

Vendor Development & Management

  • To participate in the process of selection of vendors / agencies for marketing communications
  • To ensure efficient vendor management, and monitor and ensure quality of services/ deliverables provided by the vendors/ agencies

Desired Candidate Profile


Education: Graduation, MBA in Marketing/ Sales/ related areas.


Experience: 8 -12 years of experience, preferably in Advertising, Marketing or related fields


Travel Requirements: 10-20% of total time.


Compensation Budget : Rs.16 LPA - Rs. 18 LPA
