Job Description for Stress Engineer
1) Qualifications : Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
2) Years of experience : 8 to 12 years
3) Softwares to work : CAESAR, Auto CAD, Navis & SPR.
4) 3D software knowledge : PDS/ PDMS/ SP3D
5) Areas of experience : FEED and Detail design related to Onshore -Oil & Gas facilities,
Refinery plants, Petrochemical plants, Pipelines.
6) Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead team of Engineers
- Preparation of work process plan/flow sheet and man-power requirement for project
- Selection of critical lines to be stressed in line with P&ID and line list
- Assisting in preliminary pipe routing for critical stress lines
- Preparing Static stress calculation & Dynamic studies for piping system and related equipments such as Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Heaters, Columns, Flare system using Caesar-II
- Preparation of stress analysis report and spring hanger data sheet
- WRC 107 local stress calculation & WRC 297 nozzle flexibility
- Flange stress evaluation by PEQ & NC-3658 methods
- Support markup & checking of non-critical pipe supports based on thumb rules.
- Validation of trunnion using Kellogg method excel sheets
- API-560 F&M check for Heater connected piping
- Modeling of miter joints for large diameter pipes
- WNC condition checked for pump nozzle & rotary equipments
- Modeling flexible steel structure supports in Caesar-II
- Building load cases (seismic, wind, slug & PSV) for various occasional conditions
- Analysis of centrifugal compressor, de-coupling & F&M check using Nema-23
- Resolving high pipe loads on equipment nozzles for load acceptance
- Site visits and data collection from Clients offices / plants
- Attend meetings with Clients/ Contractors/ Vendors
- Implementation of QA/QC procedures as required by Company and Client standards.
- Man-hour estimation for engineering enquiries
- Progress and man-hour monitoring for ongoing projects
- Assist in Proposals and projects.
7) Requirements:
- Shall have working experience in Engineering consultancy and/ or EPC companies related to performing basic and detail engineering for Oil& Gas projects.
- Shall be well conversant with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4 & B31.8.
- Must be fully knowledgeable about National & International codes and standards like ASTM, API, BS, MSS SP, NACE for this discipline
- Shall have experience in Design Review, HAZID, Constructability Review.
- Knowledge of company standards like SHELL DEP, KOC, QP, ARAMCO would be added advantage.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
