An engineering technician's role is to assist engineers with the development of a new product or solution. Engineering technicians may be asked to run tests, record data, collect materials, or fix parts.
Traditionally, Engineers rely more on the theories and science, while a technician is a person with a more practical understanding, Basically Engineers are the problem solvers while technicians are doers who resolve problems and keep things working.
You usually need a bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline to work as an Engineering Technologist. In some states, training may also be available through Vocational Education and Training (VET). Registration may be required in some states and territories.
