1.1 Define the complete description, responsibilities, and requirements for Systems Administrator as it relates to the IT Department, Support for Staff End Users and Core Business Activities of Systel, Inc.
2.0Scope:
2.1 All position(s) titled Systems Administrator within the IT Department of Systel, Inc.

4.0Description:
4.1 Systel is searching for an experienced systems administrator looking to grow their knowledge and experience. The candidate will join a team that is responsible for maintaining critical information systems, servers, assets, and network infrastructure. Technology at Systel is continually evolving so a successful candidate will also be involved with research, innovation, and implementation of IT systems and processes such as disaster recovery, network monitoring, network segmentation, and high availability. Experience supporting all aspects of a Microsoft Windows network including Microsoft and third-party applications, Windows servers, WAN, LAN, and WLAN connectivity is required. The candidate must also have good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work without direct supervision. The position has plenty of career and knowledge growth opportunities in Systems Administration, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, and Software Development.
5.0Roles and Responsibilities:
5.1Systems Administrator
5.1.1Assign, update, and maintain security permissions
5.1.2Build, test, and deploy servers and network equipment as needed
5.1.3Install, test, and deploy business applications as needed
5.1.4Enforce backup and recovery practices to minimize business loss
5.1.5Manage Systel network infrastructure and equipment while enforcing network policies
5.1.6Keep up with the latest industry trends and technology by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
5.2Systems Maintenance
5.2.1Use analytics and metrics to proactively monitor severs, applications, and networks.
5.2.2Investigate and resolve problems when alerted by a user or monitoring system
5.2.3Upgrade business critical servers & applications on a regular basis with minimal impact on users
5.2.4Upgrade network infrastructure on a regular basis with minimal impact on users
5.2.5Perform system audits periodically to ensure performance and compliance with IT Policy
5.3Business Initiatives
5.3.1Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
5.3.2Partner with internal/external partners to research, design, and implement IT solutions for business needs
5.3.3Communicate project status, activities, and achievements
5.4IT Support
5.4.1Respond to and resolve support requests from users within defined SLAs
5.4.2Install and configure hardware/software according to IT policy and user needs
5.4.3Training or directing users
on the correct use of software and hardware
5.5Documentation
5.5.1Accurately maintain records of repair, transactions, problems, and action taken
5.5.2Participate in defining and following department standards in documentation
5.5.3Actively document new processes and procedures
5.5.4Actively work to improve documentation
5.6All other assigned tasks and duties
5.7All work activities shall be conducted in a manner that supports Systels Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, System Level Procedures (SLP) and Work Instructions (WI).
6Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements
5.5Documentation
5.5.1Accurately maintain records of repair, transactions, problems, and action taken
5.5.2Participate in defining and following department standards in documentation
5.5.3Actively document new processes and procedures
5.5.4Actively work to improve documentation
5.6All other assigned tasks and duties
5.7All work activities shall be conducted in a manner that supports Systels Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, System Level Procedures (SLP) and Work Instructions (WI).
6Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements
6.1Education
6.1.1Degree in Information Technology or related field. Alternatively, vocational schooling with IT coursework.
6.2Experience
6.2.1At least three years of work experience in systems administration or similar technical positions.
6.2.2Owning a project from concept to implementation
6.2.3Systems design and integration
6.2.4Cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure) is a plus
6.3Knowledge Requirements
6.1.1Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows Server 2016+.
6.1.2Advanced knowledge of computer internals to build a workstation from individual parts.
6.1.3Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL.
6.1.4Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure components such as firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, DNS, and SANs
6.1.5Knowledge of scripting language(s) such as Windows PowerShell, bash, or Python.
6.4Skill Requirements
6.4.1Proven work experience in IT
6.4.2Ability to configure and test Windows servers and workstations.
6.4.3Familiar with software/equipment used in the processing, repair, and testing of computers.
6.4.4Ability to work with and train others in all aspects of the job and job requirements.
6.4.5Ability to evaluate the strengths weaknesses of recommended solutions of problems and recommend solutions and procedures regarding the repair and processing of repairs.
6.4.6Be able to read and fully comprehend information in written technical instructions, manuals, and data.
6.4.7Information Technology certifications such as Microsoft, A+, N+ are a plus.
6.4.8Must be able to communicate in a clear concise manner verbally, orally and in writing.
6.4.9Maintain work area in a clean neat, uncluttered manner.
6.4.10Maintain a work environment conducive to harmony and production in the workplace.
6.4.11Quality Awareness in relation to Systel policies and procedures for Quality and apply said instructions.
