Job Description - This mandate is for a Public Policy/Government Affairs lead for the India business of a prominent client in the Electronics Sector
Client Details
Our client is an Indian major that is growing from strength to strength in the FMCG space and with innovative strategies around sales and marketing, they have been one of the biggest names in the Indian market. They are looking for a Government Relations Head who would be overseeing the alliances with the Government and public bodies to help them achieve the growth they seek in India.
Description
The incumbent would report into the Founder and be responsible for :
- Build and establish relationships with government authorities and policy makers across Central and State governments in India

- Assist Supply Chain Lead to diversify existing value chain to India

- Provide operational support to all legislative processes and ensure compliance to public policies and

objectives


- Establish and maintain relationships with the government, embassies, and representation in industry associations and chambers of commerce such as FICCI, CII, ICEA, IAMAI, ELCINA, MAIT, etc.


- Research, Analyse and Comply with regulations at central and state levels related to Consumer Electronics


- Proactively identify emerging and significant policy issues, represent and advocate the company's policy positions on issues of importance to business in India;


- Plan, design, and deliver corporate reputation objectives like Corporate Social Responsibility for a wider brand visibility and creating an impact on society


- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an open environment, alongside teams including Legal, PR, Product and business teams.


Profile
The successful candidate should:
- Have at least 10 years in a relevant position with policies or regulatory areas, government agencies, or consultancy services that serve equivalent clients

- Have the ability to prepare compelling presentations and reports; attention to detail across analytical and writing skills is vital

- Be a good listener with strong analytical and problem-solving approach


- Have a strong understanding of the policy-making environment


- Be proficient in English and Hindi
