Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs all day to day database administration activities part of Production Support
- Implement High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Scalable environments.
- Performs capacity planning and project future capacity requirements.
- Implements all performance, security and availability best practices.
- Strong experience in configuring, troubleshooting Oracle RAC clusters, OEM, ASM and
data guard. - Ability to analyze database and query performance issues.
- Supports all Oracle databases and its tools installation, upgradations and migrations.
- Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
- Implements and enforces database security
- Evaluates new releases, security vulnerabilities and apply the respective patches in a timely
manner. - Provides technical support to application development teams.
- Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences,
packages and procedures. - Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases
- Create and manage database users, roles and privileges as required by the business.
- Work with Oracle support, creates SRs an follow up for peculiar incident resolutions.
- Manage the DR site Databases, ensure the DR is in sync with production, perform DR drills
and actual DR switch over in case of issues at Primary site - Strong Knowledge on applying Patches and Fixed
The DBA should posses the following skills
- 6-8 years of Oracle Database administration.
- Strong skills in in UNIX, Shell Scripting and/or Python scripting to automate routine
maintenance tasks. - Strong skills in ITIL concepts and ServiceNow Incident, Change, Problem and Asset
Management. - A quick leaner : Passion to learn new/unknown topics.
- Sound communication and convincing skills.
Added Qualifications:
- Oracle OCP or OCA certification.
