Job Description
Skills:Should have 2-5 years of hands-on experience in writing Queries using ANSI SQL or other native SQLs
Experience should include ability to write / decode complex queries that combine multiple data objects
Should be able to write queries that have expressions / functions that are complex in nature
Should know the difference between various data types such as BLOB / CLOB / Character / Date
Should know the functions / formats for date (what are the ways dates are stored, time zones and conversion to local regional settings)
Should have a fair knowledge of queries that impact performance
Should be strong in writing SQL in any one (oracle, Postgres, Mysql)
Plus points to have :
Experience in identifying bottlenecks with respect to connectivity
Reasonable experience regarding database setup parameters such as connection pool, database credentials, tablespaces, schemas etc.
Knowledge of any BI tool.
Knowing any reports tool, dba concepts is an advantage. It is not a must.
