Role - Engineer Mechanical ST & CC Auxiliaries
Location - Bangalore

Experience - 2 to 10 Years

Role Purpose / Job Description:

Lead all aspects of requisition engineering associated with Steam turbine & centrifugal compressor auxiliaries in Mechanical

scope of responsibility, and coordination with adjacent design teams. Prime accountability will be in Quality, On-time delivery,

cost & engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

Going through customer specifications in detail, understanding critical project requirements and deriving all necessary

requirements for design of various Mechanical Auxiliaries according to BH best practices.

Collaborating with external engineering suppliers in creation of basic engineering drawings of various Mechanical Auxiliaries

items, foundation drawings and managing 3D models.

Detailed review of above engineering drawings & 3D models.

Performing Structural analysis of baseplates using FEA tools [BDOT - BH Tool].

Assign & review static and dynamic analysis when the same is performed with Ansys software by external suppliers and create

built to print drawings for baseplate.

Creation of Piping line specification using PUMA (BH Tool)

Design/ sizing of lube oil tank (API 614) and selection of Lube oil system components like pumps, LV motors, filters,

accumulators, rundown tanks and pressure control valves.

Perform lifting analysis using BDOT (BH Tool), and create design specifications for the procurement of lifting devices used for

lifting the whole Steam Turbine / Centrifugal compressor package

Responsible for the skid package design of Centrifugal Compressor & Steam turbine packages includes package piping & support

design, locking assembly etc with due consideration to ergonomics, accessibility and maintenance.

Responsible for all plant related Mechanical interfaces of the project that includes plant foundation, interconnection piping

routing & supports definition, location of BOP external skids, plot plan, tie-in definition & nozzle loading for customer piping

connections, definition of plant walkways & ladders.

Responsible for the design of various external BOP skids that include Oil mist eliminators, Rundown oil tank, Filling oil pump,

Oil purifiers, Gland condensers, Strainers, Seal gas treatment skids etc in collaboration with external OEM vendors. The

responsibility will include first piece qualification (FPQ), exploring local supplier base where required.

Own the plant 3D model of the whole project, verify interface across different products that constitute the project, drive 3D

model review meetings with customer.

Perform / review stress analysis of piping & supports, where required.

Follow the project closure till shipment with focus on Zero punch list and provide solutions & drive closure of any non-

conformities during machine packaging.

Extend support to FSE/ FPE during installation & commissioning of the machine at site.

Technical offer evaluation and alignment with vendors. Reviewing price matrix provided by vendors & price comparison across

vendors and provide feedback to sourcing team for final negotiation.

Working with Material suppliers after Purchase order to enable final delivery of items within stipulated deadlines.

Participating in various design reviews and taking appropriate actions to ensure smooth progress of project.

Collaborating positively with adjacent Auxiliary engineering Disciplines to ensure timely transfer of inputs and information.

Propose and implement innovative solutions during project execution to help project achieve positive cost productivity.

Embracing Digital culture and supporting the creation of engineering tools to achieve positive productivity.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors / Masters Degree from an accredited university or College in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.

3-5 years of experience in Packaging of rotating equipments preferably Steam turbine & Compressor auxiliary equipment

design, piping & support design/ analysis and structural analysis.

Experienced candidates will be preferred for this role, but we are open to discuss with less experienced and interested

candidates.

Knowledge of piping design for ASME B31.1 & 31.3, Lube oil System sizing to API 614 code requirement, Sizing calculations

(Piping thickness, pressure drop, piping support etc.,), valve selection.

Proficiency in NX modules ; modelling, drafting, routing & assembly

Able to read & understand engineering documents (like P & ID, technical data sheets, O & M manuals), Site service requests.
