Job Description
Bar Attendants are employed by restaurants or banquet halls and are in charge of greeting and serving guests. Their duties include checking table decorations, accommodating guests, taking orders, responding to requests, refilling glasses, and making sure the banquet area or restaurant is clean and organized.
The captain of a restaurant is expected to communicate with the executive chef and to be knowledgeable about the menu and specials. She announces specials to patrons, explains dishes and ingredients and takes orders. The captain is expected to serve beverages and make recommendations on pairings or menu choices.
