Desired Candidate Profile
JD:-
Raw Material ProcurementSourcing Fabric of various types used in uniform manufacturing.
Interact with textile mills to get new developments and blocking the capacity according to the requirement.
Bulk fabric & color approval for production.
Follows 4 points fabric inspection systems.
To take daily follow up on day to day basis from mill & process house.
Direct dealing with product team & designing team to do the R&D on fabric & quantity according to season / customer.
To develop the new fabric according to new requirements (New product development & sourcing)
Bulk fabric & color approval for production.
Troubleshooting of all fabric & product related problems & advising vendors in regards of all best possible measures to achieve the desired parameters.
Closely associated with the Supply Chain Management in effectively handling the raw materials.
Coordination with cutting department with providing them the required inputs and sort- out issues related to production.
Accessories & Other Material Procurement
Procuring accessories like buttons,belts,shoes,zipper etc.
Vendor Development & Management
Handling sourcing & contracts through identification of cost effective vendors/suppliers/contractors for procurement of raw material & accessories with an aim of reducing cost while improving quality & reliability.
Involvement in price negotiation with supplier & finalized the price of fabric.
Identifying & developing various suppliers for the required fabrics from across the region.
Assessment of the performance of the vendors based on various criterion such as supplier PPM, Vendor ratings, quality improvement rate etc
Conducting supplier qualification audits and implementing supplier approval process that will lead to consistent and reliable vendor base.
Base fabric quality closer with in house product team with base test report & specification sheet as per customer/styling requirement.
Providing technical guidance to the vendor team, guiding them on resolving performance bottlenecks.
Product Development
Must have experience in product development in coordination with the production team.
Should have knowledge of Pre Production planning and sample development.
Product Merchandising experience will be an added advantage.
Testing & Quality Analysis
Involvement in physical and chemical testing like Within and Between Lot Shade Variations, Fabric GSM, Count/Construction, Shrinkage, Skewing/Torquing, Crocking,Washing Fastness, Tearing Strength, Tensile Strength, Abrasion Resistance, Pilling test,pH test, etc.
All related textile (fabric and finished product) testing follow-up from different laboratories, as per the minimum requirements from buyer.
Purchase Order & Payment Processing
After finalization of order/material, purchase orders (PO) will be provided to respective vendors on timely basis with close coordination with Supply Chain/Warehouse & Sales Team.
Post receiving the material, will be responsible for payments to vendors/suppliers according to the payment timeline mentioned in the vendor contract.
Desired Profile
Must have experience of sourcing/procurement from textile/garment industry
Must have experience of closely coordinating with the vendors/suppliers
Knowledge of Testing of Fabric sourced/Quality Control checks is an added advantage.
Must have experience in managing cross functional activities encompassing quality of the product, processes & bought-out items, proficiency in coordinating with the vendors, enhancing their process operations; achieving the required quality level.
Possess a clear understanding of the industry, technology trends with the distinction of instituting quality control techniques to achieve product excellence at the most justifiable cost.
Education:
UG: B.Tech/B.E. - Any Specialization, Textile, Diploma - Fashion Designing/Other Designing
PG: Any Postgraduate - Any Specialization
Doctorate: Doctorate Not Required
