Role Summary
This role is responsible for improving existing technology capability in India as part of Indias Operating Model transformation strategy and to grow and manage the product and technology team to deliver on the business stakeholder expectations for Quantium India business and importantly, in alignment with the technical best practises of Quantium Group. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Service Delivery and Performance, the role supports and drives business outcomes for internal stakeholders within Quantium and external clients alike. At least 60% of this role is to provide technical leadership and guidance to the team. This role will build capabilities, also oversee and manage the lifecycle of Technology projects - project requirements, project scoping and planning, design, coding, documentation, testing, rollout and operational management, in a timely manner, within budget and meeting or exceeding the expectations of the stakeholders from technical quality delivery perspective. This will require working closely with stakeholders to manage and deliver quality outcomes through continuous improvement based on regular feedback mechanism. This role will also closely engage with the stakeholders to get more work to be done out of India by educating and providing them guidance on the onshore offshore operating model and by delivering quality services.
Success will see you partnering with internal and external clients as a trusted advisor to deliver high technical quality and impactful solutions for external clients.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high technical quality product and technology services and solutions in a timely manner and within budget with high commercial client value to improve and reinforce external and internal client relationships
Provide technical thought leadership and solve technical problems for the team by providing guidance as required as part of capability development.
Build and improve existing capabilities in product development and technology as part of Quantium Indias Operating Model Transformation strategy to become a centre of excellence in product and technology to support Quantium globally.
Oversee the project lifecycle and delivery of projects on time and on budget, from briefing and scoping through to methodology building and execution, ensuring adherence to Quantiums quality and privacy standards
Work closely with Australia product and tech team, recruitment team and stakeholders to build high performing product and technology teams.
Work closely with the EM of service delivery and performance to help manage pipeline of technology projects, resourcing requirements, utilisation of resources and secondment requirements so that the right outcomes are achieved to the satisfaction of the stakeholders and India leadership team.
Apply transparency and fairness when resources are allocated to projects and when resources are selected for secondment or long-term transfers by ensuring compliance to the policies and procedures in place.
Work closely with the business stakeholders to prioritise projects based depending upon whether they are for customers, commercial product development or for internal purposes and ensure that the requirements, project plans and resource plans are comprehensive, clear and is approved by all parties.
Work closely with the leaders of different functions to identify opportunities where the technology team can help create efficiencies.
Ensure that India is full alignment with the Quantiums technical best practices and architecture frameworks.
Lead and drive continuous improvements in project execution through clear communication and explanation of quality standards, training and coaching of Leads, and by inspiring the teams and overseeing on-the-job and formal training for staff
Build capabilities in agile methodology to drive project execution and delivery by actively engaging this business stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Build performance, proactive, quality outcomes and commercial culture in the team
Engage with stakeholders to advocate and enable more work to be done offshore i.e. an internal BD role
Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships in India and across Quantium globally through both traditional stakeholder engagement and through driving the teams to deliver high quality outputs
Build a strong and cordial working relationship with team members and provide a learning environment to bring out the best in them by clearly understanding their strengths and weaknesses
Contribute to creating and managing a Quantium India delivery and financial Performance including value creation Health Check Dashboard for all functions using the agreed set of KPIs and ensure that the dashboard is up to date and presented to the business stakeholders on a weekly basis. This would enable building profile and benefits value proposition for India to attract more work into India.
Lead by example/lead from the front by complying to the Quantium policies and by adopting the Quantium DNA.
Contribute to India Knowledge Hub by promoting Tech Talk sessions and ensuring that there is active participation and contribution by the product and technology teams.
Key Activities
Build on existing capabilities, drive, guide, oversee, manage and support product and technology teams in India to deliver quality technical solutions across multiple projects within time and budget constraints, and to the satisfaction of the business stakeholders and customers.
Drive quality project management lifecycle activities to ensure Leads are supported and empowered to run projects to quality, time and budget
Senior stakeholder management across Product and Technology teams in Australia and other regions
Work closely with EM, Service Delivery and Performance and with stakeholders across Product & Technology and Analytics on a continuous basis to create project pipeline, get quality requirements, understand resourcing needs and provide quality outcome by meeting/exceeding the expectations.
Apply judgement, commercial acumen, and intelligence to make considered decisions or come to practical conclusions where there is natural ambiguity
Closely work with the stakeholders to advocate and enable more work to be done offshore i.e. an internal BD role by providing guidance on the onshore offshore operating model.
Provide expert technical knowledge and guidance to internal clients and stakeholders and make recommendations to create value and enhance the relationship with both internal and external clients
Contribute to implementing and operationalising a Quality Quantium India delivery and financial Performance including value creation Health Check Dashboard for all functions using the agreed set of KPIs and ensure that the dashboard is up to date and present it to the business stakeholders on a weekly basis.
Monitor employee performance, offering regular feedback and coaching, determining strategies to help improve performance and address issues promptly
Act on the action items coming out of engagement and employee surveys to ensure that the technology team related issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Work closely with the recruitment team and with the leaders in India in addressing the technology resources needs in a timely and effective manner.
Work closely with the leaders in India in addressing the secondment/long term transfer requirements in a timely and effective manner and by ensuring that the process is transparent and fair.
Ensure that the teams are continuously informed of project pipeline, resourcing requirements and secondment requirements by creating a transparent environment.
Strive to leverage best practices, methodologies, and frameworks from the broader Quantium Product and Technology team than re-invent. Use the principle of Leverage/Reuse before Buy before Build.
Drive the product and technology team to actively contribute to the India Knowledge Hub, Quantium Technology Community and the Quantium Architecture Board and ensure full alignment with Quantiums technical best practices, methodologies and frameworks.
People management including setting objectives and KPIs, performance reviews, feedback, career mentoring and career pathing for direct reports
Support implementation of the Quality Assurance framework, delivery framework, performance measurement metrics and customer surveys (internal and external) by working closely with the Executive, Head of India, Quantium P&C and other communities (e.g. Analytics, product and tech)
Support the Executive, Head of India to embed the Quantium culture in the India office and importantly, by leading by example/leading from the front to drive the cultural transformation.
Drive the team in terms of technical capabilities and guidance, industry best practices by continuously researching the market and by keeping up to date with the technology changes in industry.
Continuously push for automation of manual and routine deliverables to create efficiencies and cost savings, and importantly help divert resources to work on critical and high priority initiatives.
Experience and Education Required
15+ years experience in industry with experiences in managing technology teams of a minimum of 20+ as a technical authority/expert and as seasoned expert in program/project management.
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology.
Experience working with organisations the size of Quantium or bigger and in an on shore offshore model for a minimum of 3+ years
Good understanding of design and architectural patterns.
Very strong software engineering - design, development and testing, experience.
Experience with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies.
Good understanding of Client-side web application frameworks like Angular, React, SCSS.
Experience in DevOps model including Continuous Delivery, Telemetry, Flighting/Experimentation, Test-Driven Development, and Testing in Production.
Proficient in ASP.net Core, Web API, REST, C#, .NET Framework, SQL, Web Development and test methodologies.
Good experience on Requirement/Design/Code Review & Inspections practices.
Experience working in a start up technology organisation will be an added advantage
Experience in building high performance teams
Strong technical hands on skills and experience in commercial software product development lifecycle applying different software development methodologies and frameworks and importantly, hands on experience in agile methodology
Solid experience in developing and managing infrastructure and operational support teams that meet or exceeds the SLAs agreed with the internal and external stakeholders.
Commercial acumen to understand business needs and be able to manage stakeholder expectation through quality delivery of outcomes within time and budget.
Experience in implementing and complying to ISO 270001 data security standards would be an added advantage.
Demonstrable ability to proactively identify, understand and translate strategic business needs into technical opportunities and solutions for new and existing clients to build lasting partnerships
Experience in project management and inspirational people leadership, including effective delegation and management of multi-skilled team, to deliver projects on time and on budget
Experience in managing and coaching the performance and development of the team by bringing out the best in them
Track record of working collaboratively with clients

Experience in designing and implementing various technologies using different programming languages including full stack, n tier architecture solutions, web solutions, big data platforms, BI solutions, etc.
