Senior Engineer, Software Test - Pune @ Rockwell Automation

Rockwell Automation s Sensing, Safety and Industrial Components Business is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to be a significant contributor to a next generation product development team of software development engineers focusing on development of Add-on Profiles for embedded communication and control modules. The position requires the proven ability to work with product management and software developers and testers to support product development and execute through the entire development cycle. Accepted candidates will become part of the newly created engineering team in Pune.

Principal Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute tests for software products developed by the team.

• Participate in the design and development of new architectures and frameworks for scalable product platforms.
• Interact and collaborate on products and projects with a team of engineers located in the US, Europe, and Asia.

• Provide technical and project leadership between Engineering, Product Management and Manufacturing with the goal of total customer satisfaction. This will require knowledge of core technologies, current trends in software development, as well as reliability and/or architectural specifications of the devices and systems.
• Author and/or review architecture level design documents
• Initial responsibility includes support for Microsoft technology stack project migration from other locations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior proven experience with test automation and test automation frameworks
• 5+ years of experience PC and/or Web software testing
• Experience in code collaboration tools and design reviews
• Ability and wiliness to travel internationally 1-2 weeks per visit
• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another technical field. Software-related field preferred

Desired Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in PC and/or Web software testing
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud solutions
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Ability and/or willingness to work with emulators and hardware tools.
• Understanding of RS-232, USB, Ethernet and packet-based communication protocols
• Experience with standard version control systems
• Familiarity with Rockwell Automation controllers and software tools
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
