PayPal Engineering Platforms & Experiences (EPX) organization is looking for a Senior Technical Lead to lead the Build, Test and Release Platform teams. Being one of the leaders in the FinTech industry, PayPal has built a unique SDLC ecosystem to support the needs of PayPal engineers. This will continue to evolve as a key differentiator to enable PayPal s growth. We are looking for a senior leader who will guide the team in the technology and solutions front which would enable seamless iterative development experiences. Job Responsibilities:
Lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team with Platform thinking which is at the crux of providing friction-free development experiences.
Partner with various internal PayPal groups to ensure reliable and consistent operations.
Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on engineering excellence, execution, and craftsmanship as a Customer Champion
Develop trusted partnerships with developers, partners, and architecture leaders to drive optimized platform product delivery
Lead complex technical and strategic discussions that involve multiple personas including engineering, architect, product, customer, and other stakeholders
Bring a strong industry perspective that can help shape and evolve the internal PayPal developer experience to be as good or better than other leading technology organizations
Drive effective, mature Agile practices and continuous execution improvements within your teams
Manage stakeholder planning and communications ensuring key outcomes
Recruit, coach, and mentor the best engineering and management talent
Build, coach, and manage a strong team of engineers and engineering managers who set the standard and can up-level the overall talent of the extended organization
Provide a strong understanding of native mobile developer platforms and bring broad thought leadership to the next generation mobile developer experience
Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent products and programs from delivering on product and program objectives
Balance urgent and effective action, commitment to excellence, and taking the initiative to resolve problems; holds internal stakeholders accountable where appropriate
Job Requirements:
Bachelors/Masters with 15+ years of industry experience.
Expert level knowledge and experience in Micro-service interactions and troubleshooting, Cloud Technologies, CI/CD, Jenkins, Testing and Release methodologies
Passion for software quality engineering, previous experience build tools to solve for this is a plus
Working on problems involving scaling, innovation in a fast-paced high-pressure environment; proven results in delivery on platform product
Demonstrated strength at leading all phases of the Product Lifecycle from setting the vision to roadmap planning, requirements capture, project definition, execution, and operational excellence
Metrics driven engineering culture and pays attention to tracking KPI s to meet the outcomes
Knowledge in DevOps practices and tools
Effective management and collaboration with geographically distributed teams is a plus
Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner
Manage a diverse team of talented software engineers; attract, grow, and retain talent while building a culture of accountability, quality, innovation, and inclusion
