Job Description
The incumbent is expected to work along with Lead Trainers, Counsellors, Case workers, Social workers to accomplish the tasks related to the specific survivors of GBV and in doing so guide, support and handhold all the project staff as the master trainer of the project Sarthak. The main goal of the role is the capacity building on gender equality and GBV to ensure that the project staff and volunteers treat women, girls, men, boys with different needs and experiences, especially the poor and most vulnerable, with equal level of respect, and involve them in their activities.
This role will also engage with the schools and colleges to provide them orientation on the GBV for larger impact of the project.
Under the guidance and support of SPM W & C, the Master Trainer is expected to complete the present role including the following
- Preparation of the Training Plans of the project staff (to be held in the online / offline mode) on gender equality and GBV, referral pathways, and legal remedies based on the GE/GBV capacity assessment.
- Develop Monthly and quarterly training calendar of staff and project stake holders including judiciary system, law enforcement agencies, medical officers, media, educational institutions, etc.
- Prepare high quality training materials / educational materials (workbook) in accordance with the monthly plan.
- Liaison with project stake holders (internal and external as specified above) to roll out the public education / awareness sessions through series of training programs.
- Dissemination of the hand-out educational materials among the participants of the online GBV training, educational support of the participants.
- Provision of offline/online sessions within the scope of the online GBV training. Conduct a follow up GE/GBV capacity assessment to measure the effectiveness of training.
- Preparation of the Training Report as a result of online GBV training.
Key Functions/Responsibilities
- Facilitate trainings on core principles of Child Protection and GBV
- Facilitate trainings on Case Management
- Facilitate trainings on Standard Operating Procedures and Referral Pathway
- Assist in the development of response-based training curriculum,
- Support Child Protection and GBV project activities
- Support the organization and implementation of safety audits in high risk communities and stay aware of findings
- Support the implementation of the Child Protection and GBV referral pathway and capacity building needs.
- Assist in developing awareness materials that are targeted towards children and young women.
- Coordinate with Project Manager to contribute to monthly program reports.
- Communicate program challenges, successes and ideas with Project Manager often
- Use an interagency approach in training on GBV issues and response system.
- Provide training and technical support for Community Health Workers, counsellors and CBOs.
- Use participatory methods in all training activities.
- Use evaluations and pre- and post- tests to monitor training effectiveness.
- Write training summary, activity and meeting reports.
- Conduct exit interviews, KAP surveys.
- Conduct regular needs assessments with the GBV team and the community to inform GBV training priorities and work plan.
- Will facilitate the community/survivors to pass their complaints to the management through CBCM (Established under ICPS) in a transparent manner.
- Assist in the development of GBV IEC awareness materials.
- Submit timely technical reports in provided format to Communication department.
- Assist GBV team in the development and testing of Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) materials on GBV and violence prevention for the camp communities.
- Identify and report success stories.
- Document best practices and lessons learned.
- Find the relevant legal opinions, regulations and laws relating to upcoming cases.
- Utilize technological applications in order to conduct research, organize information and make it readily available for attorneys in email, spreadsheet and report form
- Assisting in organizing the case management protocol and supporting to develop them for the organizational best practices.
- Provide information to support survivors for counselling; compensation and other required help.
- Enhances elaborations on trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed; and how to take courtroom notes.
- Any Other tasks as entrusted by SPM W & C.
Safeguarding and protection
- Understand and strictly uphold the Plan India Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy to protect children and young people and prevent them from harm
- Provide comprehensive briefing and support to any and all stakeholders connected with children by way of Programme Communications activities or initiatives
Administrative support
- Streamline empanelment, procurement, delivery and administrative processes in line with budget allocations as per given assignments
- On-board and manage appropriate, specialised and technical agencies and vendors to ensure effective, quality and timely delivery of products and services
- Provide coordination and administrative support within the team as and when required
- Perform other duties as required by the line Officer
Desired Candidate Profile
- Master Degree in Law, Sociology, Gender studies and other relevant stream with legal working experience, especially in the cases related to GBV in Mumbai region / Maharashtra.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Gender Based Violence role is must
- Extensive experience of case management will be an added advantage, whereas, some experience of case management is essential.
- An excellent command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Marathi is essential. Fluency in Hindi will be an advantage. Additional knowledge of other Indian languages will be considered an asset.
- Thematic understanding of gender will be an essential requirement and the interlinkages of gender with other thematic priorities.
- Experience of facilitating trainings on Case Management
- Experience of facilitating trainings on Standard Operating Procedures and Referral Pathway
- Experience of working on the development of response-based training curriculum,
- Previous experience as a Trainer or attended TOT training with a reputable organization.
- Will have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
- Computer proficiency is a Must.
