The Bigdata Architect is a core member of the US Business unit team, supporting the delivery of Bigdata Factory and other projects to support local BU business requirements. He will be part of our enterprise transformation from traditional data warehouse (3 Petabytes of data) to Big data. Candidate should be a go getter who will be excited to work on cutting edge technologies with enough background on old traditional database and data warehouse. If you get excited when you hear Scala/spark/ Triton/Camunda/Kafka / Apache Beam/Airflow/ TEIID /Hadoop/Hive/Kibana/ Stack storm as technical stack this role might excite you.
Job Description:
- Work with large streams of data with tools like Hadoop Spark Kafka Hive Hbase and Impala.
- Define migration strategy and design framework loading the data into the Data Lake.
- Provide end to end technical expertise and knowledge in support of architecture design and development of NoSQL solutions.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in both written and oral formats.
- Application design, software development (70%), Will be involved in hands-on activity for development and troubleshooting/performance tuning etc.
- Supports Offerings development team to build out new capabilities leveraging BDF component/technologies to address business objectives based on local country data asset
- Hands-on experience with Scala/Hadoop/Hive/Spark development, Hadoop development and implementation, Loading from disparate data sets
- Pre-processing using Hive and Spark
- Expert in Scala programming. Would need to clear Scala coding test at the end of recruitment process.
- Good with HiveQL/Impala SQL and Data Warehouse methodology, Machine Learning will be an added advantage
- Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle including continue integration with tools like Jenkins/JIRA and Agile methodology
- Capable of taking charge of emergent tasks and delivering without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary, Patient, organized, detail-oriented
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Overall Experience 12+ years in IT, Bachelor or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant discipline.
PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
- Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
- Regular sitting for extended periods of time
- Occasional travel.
