Zonal Programme Coordinator (ZPC)


Role Details:

  • Reports to: Head of Programme Region (HOP)
  • Responsible for: Providing leadership and direction to the Zonal teams in their designated Equine Welfare Projects (EWP)
  • Location: Gandhinagar/Ahmedabad. The person will be required to travel regularly to the designated EWP areas for supervision and monitoring.

Brooke India (BI) works for the welfare and health of working equines and the development of community that owns them. It has operations in 12 States & Union Territories and implements its programme directly.

Purpose of the Role:

The Zonal Programme Coordinator (ZPC) is a lead position at zonal level of the Brooke India (BI) to provide leadership and programmatic support to the EWPs with the assistance of Deputy ZPCs (DZPCs). They will assist the HOP for their region in designing and delivering a cost-effective, innovative programme, which positively impacts welfare of working equids and the equine owning community. Implementation shall be as per local contexts that contribute to the achievement of the organisational vision and mission. They will also be responsible and accountable for administration and capacity building of staff at zonal level.


The person should clearly demonstrate the values of Brooke in their behaviour and adopt the Brooke Ways of Working by creating an ethical and happy working environment allowing utmost trust, motivation and respect. To achieve this, they must embrace the stakeholders and work in thematic areas viz. Livelihood & Resilience, Compassion & Behaviour, Strengthening Animal Health Systems and support an enabling environment to bring about positive impact on equine health & welfare and encouraging equine owning communities to thrive through meaningful innovation and enhancing effectiveness of programmatic work.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Line management of Zonal staff, which include DZPCs, Project Officers (PO), Global/Master Farrier Trainers (G/MFT), Project Finance Officer (PFO), and Field Assistants (FA).
  • Ensure strict adherence to strategic guidelines/ SOPs/policies/procedure of Brooke UK and BI
  • Support HOP and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in identifying new areas of operation for future expansion.
  • Support in conducting zonal/ regional activities/ workshops such as scoping, mid-year review, annual planning and zonal capacity building events etc.
  • Ensure program/ project planning, staffing requirements, budget, & mid-term reviews of EWPs of the zone under the guidance and supervision of HOP.
  • Training Needs Assessment of zonal and EWP staff.
  • Ensure capacity building of Community leaders, Local Service Providers (LSP) and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor the progress of projects activities & outputs towards the achievement of key objectives and deliverables, including identification of implementation challenges
  • Support EWP staff on analysis, interpretation & sharing of various records and reports analysed by Zonal team or M&E team, suggesting appropriate actions and further monitoring of the same.
  • Ensure timely submission of attendance, leave status, monthly/quarterly project reports, financial reports and success/case studies including any special/unplanned requirements requested by HQ
  • Ensure compliance of BI policy and procedures related to program and finance
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Collaborate / advocate / establish and develop linkages with relevant government, non-government, academic & development organizations to support and strengthen equine health & welfare systems and encourage striving equine owning communities..
  • Stay abreast of new developments through building and maintaining networks and attendance at events. Participate in conferences, seminars, and other professional development activities to maintain and enhance expertise and professional status.
  • Provide support for monitoring and evaluation efforts, strengthening data quality through review, and providing monthly high-level analysis of program implementation progress and presentation of progress toward achieving targets.
  • Any other duties as directed by the line Manager.

Qualification and Experience

Essential

  1. Bachelors degree Veterinary Science with VCI Registration/Post-graduate Degree in Social/ Agriculture/ Rural development or equivalent
  2. Minimum 10 Experience in the field of development
  3. Experience across full project cycle or working experience in projects related to animal welfare or husbandry or livelihood
  4. Experience of financial management and budget planning
  5. Experience of using IEC in effective and planned manner
  6. Knowledge of Participatory approaches
  7. Fluent in verbal and written communication in English & Hindi
  8. Have love for animals and be willing to work for their welfare
  9. Ability to travel and work independently
  10. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and adept in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Desirable

  1. MBA/PGDM
  2. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, judgment, integrity, humility and a sense of humour,

Remuneration

Salary Package: Based on qualification and experience, the approximate package shall be in the range of INR 9.15 to10.15 lakhs.


Brooke India observes statutory provision of Employees Provident Fund, Gratuity, etc. as per eligibility.


There are provisions for Personal Accident Insurance and Medical insurance/Employees' State Insurance as per eligibility.
