Test Engineer - Chennai - Equiniti Ics India

• The Test Engineer is responsible for testing various components within a system.
• They will conduct test activities in functional test environments prior to the release of application code into SAT/UAT environments.
• Individual will write/execute test cases & scripts and works with development team to resolve identified issues.
• Providing support and assistance to Senior Test Engineer/Analyst/Test Leads during the software development lifecycle (SDLC) ensuring all processes and procedures are followed as detailed in the Test Strategy and Test Plans.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties

• Writing of test conditions/scenarios, test cases with expected results and test data for testing projects from requirements/specifications.
• Experience in Manual Test execution while accurately recording and storing test results.
• Implementing scheduled tests, execution and logging the tests and evaluating the results and documenting any deviations from expected results.
• Provide testing expertise in all walks of testing environments (Windows, Web, Mobile devices, etc.)
• Exposure of testing methodologies, defect management system and basic database knowledge are must.
• Participate in test review meetings within the team.
• Defect retesting, fault reviews and defect analysis of any issues/bugs raised.
• Support the Agile testing process, attending daily stand-ups and ownership of individual user stories
• Fully understand how all aspects of their work integrates with the rest of the SDLC
• Exposure to Automation tools and provide test automation support for test execution.
• Exposure to Agile life cycle and Kanban boards.
• Exposure to Microsoft tools is an added advantage (TFS, Azure Devops, etc.).
• Knowledge/Experience in any programming language is desirable (C#, Java etc.)
• Exposure to Non-Functional testing (Performance, Load, Volume etc.) is an added advantage.

• A Good background in working with Agile testing process.
• A good understanding of test methods, covering - system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing,
• Test Automation script execution using Selenium is added advantage.
• Experience/Exposure to database SQL Server, Microsoft office and SharePoint.
• Should have appropriate years of testing experience required for this role.
• Should Work under routine supervision. Uses minor discretion in resolving problems or enquiries. Works without frequent reference to others. Able to deliver work that meets the time and quality targets.
• Highly flexible, including willingness to work away from home base and UK hours.
• Interacts with and influence immediate colleagues and should have more influence in own domain and should possess good functional understanding of the assigned project.
• Should perform a range of varied work activities in a variety of structured environments.
• Understands and uses appropriate methods, tools and applications. Demonstrates a rational and organised approach to work.
• Can rapidly absorb new technical information and apply it effectively.
• Having Testing Certifications will be an added advantage.
• Normal working hours would be Indian business hours however should be willing to work in UK working hours based on project requirement and be available for support out of Indian business hours on weekdays and weekends.

• Knowledge in Case Management is Mandatory.
• Should have minimum 2 years of experience in current role.
