Job Description
Currently we are hiring for a leading construction company in Mumbai:
Position: Site Engineer
Experience: 4-5 years
Responsibilities:
Reading and understanding of GFC (Good For Construction) drawing received from the consultants / Architect.
Responsible for implementation of good construction practices on site.
Plan and coordinate all on-site construction labours like carpenters, fitters & unskilled labours to comply with required quality and speed of RCC work as per the project scheduling.
Supervise form work, reinforcement work and concreting work to ensure that each activity is carried out as per the quality norms set by the company.
Plan and coordinate all on-site construction activities (including labour force required) like Brickwork, Plaster, Flooring, POP, Plumbing, Electrical etc.
Co-ordination has to be done in such a manner that no agency is lagging behind, causing delay in work and delay in handing over the work place to another agency.
Follow up with vendors & sub-contractors for delivery of material, work space etc.
Ensure effective coordination with various sub-contractors by establishing proper correspondence and organize periodic meetings.
Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the various works for Contractors adherence to the approved drawings and Consultants specification, good working practices and construction schedule.
Facilitate effective co-ordination at site between sub-contractors and civil sub-contractor for acquiring clearance required for finishing works.
Direct and lead subcontractors to achieve the project milestone dates.
Monitor and promote health and safety on the site. Record and report any breaches to the Project Manager. If required stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
Set up meetings to resolve specific site problems as required in order to minimize program delays.
Establishes and conducts internal audits to insure quality control requirements are met and recommends acceptance or rejection of all work in process as well as completed work items in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
Research and develop solutions to problems and conflicts through timely and accurate interpretation of contract documents.
Manage the day to day work of the various teams. Maintaining proper documentation of work & details of project etc.
Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
Monitor quality of the Contractors construction works.
Continually review the construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to various activities and report to higher authority.
