Catering Officer manages catering services such as conducting quality checks on in-flight meals and monitoring the loading and unloading of food carts. He/She supports work processes to address hygiene and quality issues identified from audit findings. He/She executes safety and security measures. He/She serves as a mentor to team members.
Tasks
Act as a mentor to team members.
Address issues with Autonomous Guided Vehicles/Autonomous Vehicles (AGV/AVs).
Assign tasks to Catering Assistants for the delivery of catering services.
Assign tasks to Catering Assistants to perform catering services operations.
Carry out checks on the quantity and classification of food based on order information.
Check meal trays to ensure airline specifications are followed.
Check meal trays with special requirements.
Check the loading and off-loading of food carts from flight kitchens and catering vehicles.
Document food hygiene and quality audit findings.
Ensure food hygiene and quality standards are followed.
Examine food carts set for delivery.
Interpret and follow safety and security standards for teams.
Monitor the loading of in-flight meals in accordance with cabin loading plans.
Process raw materials based on menu cycles and projected passenger loads.
Provide on-the-job training to team members on day-to-day tasks.
Assists the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize guests dining experience.
Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables, and buffet.
Sets up the front line with the equipment, plateware, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products.
Loads and unloads plates, silverware, and other service equipment.
Serves courses, clears dishware, and ensure that guests dining needs are taken care of.
Keeps serving stations restocked throughout the event.
Cleans large and small trays and tray stands to be ready for service.
Maintains guest tables and serving stations according to client specifications and procedures.
Assists other catering staff as needed to optimize the guests dining experience.
Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the manager on duty.
Correctly completes closing duties at the end of each event.
