Senior Software Engineering Manager @ Microsoft

Job Description

• The team is growing, and were seeking an engineering manager to lead our recently established Bangalore team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using your skills to improve peoples lives, have strong customer empathy, and will balance deep technical development/architectural skills with a compassion for your direct reports.
• Leading a team of approx. 5 engineers, you will coach/mentor the team to deliver new experiences to empower the blind community, as well as to respond to customer requests and ensure product quality. In addition to reviewing the team s work, you will also be hands-on designing / developing / testing / debugging the product. Additionally, you will work with your team to foster an inclusive culture, and help employees grow in their careers.
• The team will work closely with colleagues in Redmond, USA, and contribute to the end-to-end solution, from mobile apps to cloud services to machine learning pipelines.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor in Computer Science or related field; Masters/PHD a plus.
• 7+ years experience in a software engineering role.
• Previous People Management experience.
• 2+ years experience developing iOS/Android apps.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience shipping a consumer software product.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and/or Augmented Reality.
• Experience working on accessibility, or in the tech-for-good space.
