Cable Technician responsibilities include digging and setting ground cables, working on poles and installing equipment as needed. Cable technicians are responsible for installing data and voice cable systems for residential television systems, home routers, and other cabled devices. Duties may include digging and setting ground cables, working on poles, installing equipment, and troubleshooting any problems with the cable system.
Ultimately, you will work with other Cable Technicians to ensure our customers have access to the services they need.
Responsibilities
Installing televisions, cables, routers and IT devices
Troubleshooting issues with the cable network
Repairing cable poles and towers
Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations
Completing paperwork such as timesheets, checklists, vehicle inspection reports and service orders
Carries out the assigned cabling tasks including laying, splicing, testing, fault location and maintenance activities promptly, systematically, efficiently and according to the prescribed procedures and standards.
Supports as required the related civil works, duct blockage clearance and other preparatory/incidental activities associated with cable laying/repair.
Assists in dewatering of manholes and junction boxes if required.
Interfaces with the other Engineering sections in the unit as required on the cable jobs related to development and maintenance of Fiber Network (Cable Jointer/Splicer).
Installation and maintenance of customer apparatus/equipment and systems.
