Job Description for Mechanical Engineer:-
Bohr is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer of IOT Devices for the Corporate Research & Development Division, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter.
Job Summary:
The person hired for the position ofMechanical Engineer of IOT Devices will contribute ME aspects to development of new designs at all stages, from concept creation through launched product, including related accessories and jigs.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
Primary Responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to the following:-
- Definition of mechanical designs for interconnected data acquisition and processing devices
- Broad use and application of mechanical engineering principles, concepts, theories and techniques to solve problems related to product development, manufacturing, and design
- Translation of customer requirements into functional specifications (mechanically based)
- Interaction with customers to evaluate concepts
- Interacting with manufacturing and process personnel to optimize product design for ease of manufacturing
- Interacting with electrical engineering and software development team to implement concepts
- Designing and conducting experiments to validate product performance, including design and prototyping of concepts for rapid testing and verification
- Ensure accurate and controlled documents are generated. Produce design models, drawing details, assembly drawings and associated engineering documentation with 3D parametric modelling software, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point
- Use software tools such as SolidWorks and PTC Creo to design mechanical parts and assemblies
- Staying up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are efficient and competitive
- Providing onsite technical support for related engineering prototypes, NPI and production release
- Self-starter in identifying what is critical to the success of a project
- Actively communicating and collaborating with project teams and customers
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of combined team leadership and/or project leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in engineering
- Broad use and application of mechanical engineering principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems
- Minimum of three years experience in using 3D-CAD; prefer SolidWorks experience
- PTC Creo experience is a plus
- Excellent technical judgment and able to set logical action plan for design and technical problem resolution
- Successful track record of delivering NPI and/or NTI projects
- Record of contributing to development of new designs and/or processes at all stages, from concept creation through launched product
- Track record of developing intellectual property
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience working with team members with electrical engineering and software development expertise
- Experience designing parts and assemblies for injection molding
- Experience designing and conducting experiments to validate product performance, including designing and prototyping concepts for rapid verification
- Well organized, strong problem-solving skills, team-building mentality, customer-first attitude
- Self-starter in identifying what is critical to the success of a project
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
