Notes from manager: Python / shell scripting developer Snowflake how to set up snowflake accounts from scratch Transferring onprem processes to snowflake Snowflake Cloud data expert Description: Database Engineering team is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individual who is a self-starter and is passionate about Engineering Database solutions. You will be a part of Database Design and Warehouse Engineering team within the Data Services Infrastructure Group and will require strong team interaction with Data Services staff/peers, other engineering, and operations group members within the IT organization, as well as with application and business development teams. This position will be focused on building automation pipelines around database platforms (on-prem and cloud) which will require programming skills (Python/Scala/Shell scripting) and API development experience. Primary Responsibilities: Automate standard Database processes using Python/Java/Unix Shell scripting. Design and Architect database solution on Snowflake cloud platform. Develop new automation scripts in python and write unit cases. Enhance/troubleshoot existing Unix shell scripts. Skills Required: Expert in programming and has automation mind set. Experience with AWS, Snowflake and Azure data ecosystem. Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, SnowPipe, Snowpark, Python, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Optimizer, Metadata Manager, data sharing, and stored procedures. Snowflake SQL Writing SQL queries against Snowflake Developing scripts Java, Python, Scala, etc. to do Extract, Load, and Transform data. In-depth understanding of Data Warehouse/ODS, ETL concept and modeling structure principles Experience in Data warehousing - OLTP, OLAP, Dimensions, Facts, and Data modeling. Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements. 5+ years of hands on experience designing and implementing production grade data warehousing solutions on large scale data technologies such as Snowflake, DB2 or SAP IQ.
