Job Description

One of the largest energy companies in Asia is looking to expand its operations into Mumbai, India. They are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager/Specialist to join them as pioneers of this expansion.

Main purposes:

  • To monitor and identify potential new business opportunities
  • To lead the government relations functions with an Indian government agency for the company
  • To plan and execute a comprehensive, proactive government affairs strategy that advances the company's mission and goals with local, regional, state, and federal elected officials
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Develop and manage strategy for strengthening relationships with government agencies and increasing their understanding of and support for the company's core business.
  • Facilitate the company and group company to establish a relationship with various entities in India including, but not limited to, Government Entity, Private Company, and Banks
  • Plan, implement, and/or attend the events and other activities to support the company's government relations goals, such as town halls, news conferences, company visits, and meetings.
  • Research and monitor government activities that could affect the organization's business and clients.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, etc.
  • Provide updates on the local news and development on the power, utility, battery, and e-mobility dynamics in India
Qualification:
  • Preferred Master's degree in MBA, Political Science, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
  • Education background in business, renewable energy is a plus
Work Experience:
  • Specialist: 3-5 years / Manager: 8-10 years experience in business analysis/business development or subsidiary management
  • Experience in renewable energy or power business
  • Experience of progressively responsible, professional experience in government relations required.
  • Valid driver's license required
