Job Description

We are seeking a proven Manager - Finance & Accounts to handle the entire Finance & Accounts function of the company which includes (but is not limited to) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), AR, AP, Taxation (direct & indirect taxes), statutory compliance, revenue operations, Risk Analysis, Vendor Management, etc.

Principal responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for :
Accounting & Book Closure Activity :

  • Review of Provision of Expense.
  • Review of Fixed Asset Register.
  • Review of Prepaid Expense Register.
  • Revenue Reconciliation of Invoicing System Vs Books on a Monthly basis.
  • GL Review & Sign off on a monthly basis and take necessary steps to ensure compliance with Indian GAAP.
  • Preparation of Standalone and Consolidated Financial statements as per Indian GAAP.
  • Obtaining Ledger Confirmation from Vendors and Customers on a Quarterly basis.

Indirect Taxation
  • Reconciliation of GSTR 3B & 1 return with Books (including RCM Liability and ITC).
  • Monthly GSTR 3B & 1 Review and Sign off for filing.
  • Preparing to work & filing GSTR 9 & 9C.

Direct Taxation (incl International Taxation)
  • Review of Working & Payment for withholding tax compliances.
  • Review and Sign off of quarterly TDS return filing for forms 26Q & 27Q.
  • Working knowledge of Tax implications & compliance requirements on payment to Non Residents. Working knowledge on compliance requirements for transactions relating to Transfer Pricing within and outside India.
  • Application of Lower Deduction of Tax Certificate on a Yearly basis.
  • Working knowledge of payments and returns of Equalization Levy.
  • Review and Filing of Income Tax, Tax Audit & Transfer Pricing Report

Treasury Management :

  • Ensuring effective working capital management across the Banks.
  • Maintaining relations with Bankers on an ongoing basis for all the present and future banking requirements.
  • To ensure optimum utilization of reserves.

MIS, KPIs, and various reports for Management Review :
  • Preparing/developing various management reports/KPIs/dashboards e.g. Revenue analysis; Cost analysis; Function wise/POD wise cost analysis; Product profitability; any other reporting requirement.
  • Preparation of various MIS reports for management, investors, bankers, etc.
  • Payables and receivables aging analysis, reconciliation on an agreed frequency basis.

Internal, Statutory Audit, Tax Audit & GST Audit :
  • Ensuring day-to-day accounting transactions are done based on set internal controls.
  • Setting documented Internal processes, and creating SOPs for accounting for effective review and control.
  • Coordinating with the Internal Auditor and cross-functional team to ensure smooth Internal audit progress.
  • Handling end-to-end Statutory Audit Assignments from initial request till finalization level and ensuring timely closure of Statutory audit as per committed timelines.
  • Review and Handling end to end Tax audit (incl Transfer Pricing Audit) up to Income Tax Return filing level.
  • Review and Handling of GST Audit up to return filing level.

Handling Tax Assessments :
  • Preparing Data relating to Income Tax Assessments, coordinating with a consultant, and submitting the response to the relevant authority
  • Preparing Data relating to GST Assessments, coordinating with a consultant, and submitting the response to the relevant authority.

Requirements:
  • Accounting and Analytical skills: Qualified Finance Professional with 3 to 6 years of experience in Financial Accounting and Reporting or Management Reporting and Analysis.
  • People Management: Should have experience in leading the team.
  • Good Accounting knowledge - Income Statement Analysis, Balance Sheet, Journal Entries, etc.
  • Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • MS Office skills: Should have strong MS Excel skills.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross-geographic, cross-organizational and cross-cultural team.
  • Strong team player and ability to work in large groups across the organization.
  • Strong customer-focused and result-oriented.
  • Stay abreast, through regular research and reviews of periodicals, etc., of developments in GAAP and IFRS and identify areas of possible impact to the company.
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting policies and procedures manual (including changes affected by the above) and regularly update for changes in our business.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of directors, managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to independently define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw appropriate and well-thought conclusions, and articulate conclusions clearly.
  • Ability to work in an environment where there may be some ambiguity in responsibilities as the company grows.

Education and Experience :

  • A Finance Professional with a B.Com or CA degree. MBA in Finance will be an advantage.
  • Experience in leading/managing the Finance team for a Startup is mandatory.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • An Eye for detail is required.
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English for communication with corporate.
