Job Description

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to increase market share and profitability on a sustainable basis in line with the Annual Business Plan (ABP).
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company's customer base and ensures its strong presence.
  • To motivate & direct the Sales team to establish coverage, distribution, and display objectives to meet sales targets.
  • To plan and implement local sales promotion in consultation with marketing. Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Present sales, revenue, and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Help business head in developing a long-term pricing strategy to maximize variable margin through product/ territory/ pack mix decisions.
  • Regularly have a commercial review with a financial and commercial manager for profitability and working capital including debtors
  • Have a clear focus on channels like General trade, Institutions, and Modern Trade to build Distribution, Visibility, and volumes.
  • Work towards reduction in cost with optimum quality of product development
  • Manage recruitment of new team members, set objectives for them, while inducting them into the sales process, and monitor performance regularly.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Liaising with the Marketing team to ensure that adequate marketing support by way of merchandising and promotions is available in the region in order to provide brand visibility and promote sales in the region.
Role Requirements:
  • Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Management Graduate from one of the premier institutes with 14-15 years of Sales and Marketing experience out of which the majority of the experience should have been in the sales function. A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in an FMCG company, preferably Personal Hygiene Consumables Sales. Should have handled South India territory sale
