Senior Software Engineer - Python Developer @ Veritas Technologies

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new Autosupport and Hardware monitoring features for Veritas NetBackup Appliances
• Deliver seamless integration with underlying SOA architecture. Automate tests and maintain software modules to a high-quality standards
• Verify solutions by developing and implementing monitoring systems and automated tests
• Work with the Product architects to take ownership of functional areas within the Autosupport framework
• Collaborate with Product Management and other engineering and QA teams
• Troubleshoot field issues related to functionality, performance and scalability.
• Verify process activities that ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and demos
• Participate in peer reviews
• Collaborate with local and offshore co-workers
• Excellent debug and problem solving either individually or within a team
• Work with your scrum team to continuously improve processes

Requirements:

• 5 - 8+ years of experience developing software with Python.
• Strong analytical skills and experience as a development engineer
• Experience with SOAP or REST, J2EE concepts, one or more of J2EE application frameworks is required
• Expertise in Linux internals, Commands, Shell programming required
• Exposure to hardware monitoring, system monitoring and/or system management highly desired
• Solid understanding of procedure and object oriented programming
• Knowledge of HW and SW components like CPU, drives, controllers, drivers, FW, BIOS etc highly desired
• Experience in writing automated functional test cases
• Experience in the backup or storage management domains a plus
• BE/B Tech./ME/MTech/MCA/MSc or higher degree preferably in Computer Science
