Job Description
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be part of the SABA Cloud Operations team and will be responsible for building a distributed computing operating system, middleware, services layer abstraction and operational API - taking our vision of global ecommerce SAAS platform to reality. Our goal is to manage a platform used by customer and maintain 99.99% availability and scale the environment to support the ever changing customer needs. Success in this role requires very strong technical skills, a broad background and understanding of every layer of the systems ecosystem. It is absolutely critical that you have skills to work in a dynamic, fast paced technical environment.
Qualifications: Ensure the platform maintains 99.99% uptime. Work towards a target of platform availability to 99.999%
Responsibilities- Responsible for the overall health of all SABA Cloud Product portfolios.
- Technical analysis and resolution of customer issues; balance technology needs with business, customers needs and demands.
- Responsible for all technology stacks that supports a customer service. This includes the Network, Server HW, and Operating System, Middleware technologies, Java and Web applications.
- Responsible to troubleshoot and engage Database Administrators as the appropriate.
- Responsible to correlate logs and events to pin point a technical issue.
- Responsible to analyze monitoring alerts and reports from New Relic, Nagios, Web Robot, Splunk and home grown tools.
- In the event of a customer outage, engage the relevant SABA Site Reliability team members, SABA Support, SABA Engineering (as needed) in a technical conference bridge to quickly analyze and resolve the customer issue. Until the customer issue is resolved provide periodic updates to SABA Operations, Support, Client Executives and key leaders in the Enterprise.
- In case of a customer outage, take ownership for the root cause analysis and complete them within the SLA.
- Handle customer incidents and requests within the SLA. Wherever SLA breach may occur, proactively set and manage customer expectation by partnering with SABA Support representative.
- Automation of standard tasks related to System, DB and Application management. Automate the shutdown of physical and virtual servers across the datacenter.
- Maintain dashboards to track allocation against projects and utilization of servers, storage, data backup capacity.
- Participate in evaluating new technologies and provide recommendation to respective team leads including planning and execution of proof of concept activities.
- Support datacenter migration projects. Assist in task automation activities specific to the project.
- Engage and support key infrastructure initiatives related to Open Stack, Object Store and Oracle RAC deployments.
- 5 years experience building and managing a high-transactional, 24x7 production environment on Windows and Linux based platform.
- Expertise on virtualization technologies like VMWare, Openstack, etc
- Must have good working knowledge and experience with Linux, VMware, WINDOWS Operating System,
- 5-7 years of Experience supporting RHEL, CentOS Understanding of monitoring tools like New Relic, Nagios, Splunk and BMC Coradiant.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to relate to people at all levels. Willingness to be flexible and not settle for status quo.
- Ability to be persistent in working towards the organization objectives and goals.
- Willingness to learn from mistakes, open communication, ownership and accountability
- A good scripting knowledge in SHELL, PEARL, PYTHON.
- Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Engineering preferably in Computer Science (or related discipline)
- Technology certifications on Operating systems, Database, Networking, Middleware, JAVA a plus
- 5 years supporting production virtualization systems running VMWare ESX 4.1 and ESXi 5.1 NETAPP. Storage administration and familiarity with snapmirror and snapshot technologies is a plus.
- Working knowledge of various storage technologies, NAS/SAN/iSCSI/Object based storage.
