Job Description
Principal BIM Modeler (Revit) - Civil ( UK Water Projects)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Productionand verification of BIM models and civil drawings for selected projects (orcomponents of projects) for Water Civils team.
Takingresponsibility for technical quality assurance and client feedback and ensuringeffective communication of any changes/ modifications.
Proactivelyengaging with various Arcadis Regional offices/ teams regarding safe designrequirements, and flag risks at appropriate levels. Resolving issues and createstrong relationships with project colleagues in the regions, evidenced throughgreat feedback.
Reviewingwork and drive the culture of checking and accountability in the team, including interdisciplinary checks
Liaising withand assisting the design professional and BIM Manager
Adhere tothe schedule and quality requirements.
Working incollaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of theoverall design.
Collaborate and Coordinate with other disciplines to mitigate designchallenges.
Design Health Safetymanagement for the project works.
Develop BIM Execution Planand BIM project workflow criteria.
Follow BIM contentstandards and development procedures.
Prepare own disciplinemodel and/or content for BIM CoordinationMeetings.
Highlevel of communication and good writing skills.
LeveragingBIM software and tools as a methodology to coordinate design documentation.
Follow BIM content standards and development procedures.
May take the lead on developing some discipline specific BIM modelingcontent for project.
Prepare own discipline model and/or content for BIM CoordinationMeetings.
Software Expectations:
Knowledge of BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit , Navisworks Manage, BIM360 etc.
Knowledge of Civil 3D will be an added advantage.
AutoCAD - for drawing linkage and cleanup.
General understanding of interoperability between software used toaccomplish own discipline tasks.
Demonstrated delivery acumen. Experience in civil drawings and BIMmodels for large scale projects related to,
a. Waterand wastewater conveyance systems,
b. Pumpingstations and other related structures,
c. Intakesand outfalls,
d. Treatmentplants,
e. Drainagesystems,
f. Floodprotection facilities,
Experience of delivering civil drawings and BIM models at all stagesfrom concept through to final project and construction delivery.
Knowledge/ experience in UK/ European water industry is preferable.
Produce 2D drawings for new or improved products using industry, departmental and discipline standards.
Preparation of design input to Design Team and co- ordinate with otherstaff to prepare drawings.
Liaison with other team members to produce good design solution as perbest design practice.
Keeping up- to- date with innovations and developments.
Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time totime.
Required competencies:
Soundtechnical knowledge, academically good.
Familiarwith British codes, drawing standards and practices related to Civil/ waterutility modelling and drawing production.
Awarenessof software used for BIM modelling.
Goodknowledge of, Revit, BIM 360, Civil 3D, Micro station etc.
Goodknowledge of Microsoft office.
A strong, self- motivated and assertive person capable of working under pressure.
Well- developedinterpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Flexibleto adopt new work /challenge work as per business requirement.
Compliance of Arcadis business management system.
Health Safety Management
Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time totime.
This role provides Design or redesign complex models and drawings fromgeneral written or verbal specifications from Group Leader.
Produce CAD drawings for new or improved products using industry, departmental and discipline standards.
Preparation of design input to Design Team and co- ordinate with otherstaff to prepare drawings.
Liaison with other team members to produce good design solution as perbest design practice.* Qualifications and Experience: Diploma in Civil Engineering/BE Civil / ITIDrafting from a recognized University.
8 years experience as BIM Modeler.
