Job Role & Responsibilities:

The Sub Editor will subedit all content and prepare it for publication across the digital platform.

Subedit news stories, comment pieces and feature articles ensuring sense, style and accuracy.

Write strong and accurate headlines, stand firsts and picture captions, to house style.

Optimize content for various platforms- ensure content is tagged correctly.

Sub edition web based CMS and on Adobe In Design (optional but preferable).

Upload some content including Intelligence tool and ensure it is well structured.

Liaise with Executive Editor, news manager and knowledge editor to ensure content is produced and published to the expected standards and on schedule.

Write roundup articles normally including short summaries of the main health news from the week. Send out daily newsletters, including breaking news, on time, for a busy news desk which relies on fast-turnaround newsletters.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Graduate and/or Post Graduate in Mass Communication or Journalism.

At least one to two years experience in sub editing, preferably for a reputed publication.

Experience in using Content Management Systems and Subediting across different platforms.

Must be familiar with general computer use including MS Office softwares (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Preferably have working experience of Desktop Publishing Softwares, preferably Adobe In Design, Photoshop, etc.

Basic HTML Skills are preferable.

Fast and accurate subediting,

Flawless oral and written English.

Good communication and interpersonal skills
