Job Description

An Assistant Accountant, or Accounting Assistant, supports the Accountant in completing basic bookkeeping, clerical and accounting tasks for a company. Their duties include preparing company budgets, building and assessing financial reports and managing a business' payroll processes.

 

Assistant Accountant Skills and Qualifications:

Data Entry; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Excellent Skills With Microsoft Office; Payroll Experience; Experience in Balance Sheet Account Preparation; Detail Oriented; Organized; Timely; Competent IT Skills; Strong Bookkeeping Skills; Knowledge of Business Math; Understanding of Budgetary Principles; Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills; Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Related Field or Equivalent Work Experience

  • Maintain financial records for client companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements by comparing transactions to the general ledger.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Finance department, including filing, report generation, budget review, etc.
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and timely.
  • Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
