    A storekeeper is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory, ensuring goods are stored safely, and keeping accurate recordsTheir duties and responsibilities can vary depending on the organization and the type of goods managed, but generally include.


    • Receiving goods: Inspecting each item to ensure it meets the specifications outlined in purchase orders or invoices   
    • Maintaining records: Inputting all records of receipt of stock into the inventory system   
    • Issuing supplies: Issuing supplies through authorized requisition forms   
    • Notifying suppliers: Notifying suppliers and/or purchasing department of short shipments or over shipments   
    • Maintaining store: Keeping the store neat and tidy   
    • Storing materials: Storing materials in proper manner in the appropriate location code number wise and category wise   
    • Reporting abnormal occurrences: Reporting any abnormal occurrences in their department to the management
