Roles and Responsibilities
Assisting in the procurement of materials and equipment for civil and construction projects, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency. Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine material requirements. Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and timely deliveries. Managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring all materials meet the required specifications and quality standards. Maintaining accurate records of material receipts, inward/outward material entries, and stock management. Collaborating with site engineers, project managers, and suppliers to forecast material needs and resolve any procurement challenges. Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and materials, staying updated on industry trends. Monitoring inventory levels and working closely with stores and logistics teams to ensure timely restocking of materials. Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and legal regulations. Preparing procurement reports and updating the Purchase Manager on material status, vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong understanding of civil and construction materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications. Basic knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management. Good negotiation and communication skills for supplier coordination. Proficiency in stock management, inward/outward material entry, and inventory control systems. Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement documentation.
