- Job Title: PostgreSQL DBA Reports to: IT Manager/Team Lead Location: Andheri Mumbai Job Type: Full-time About Us: Candidate required for an international Insurance company Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with PostgreSQL. Key Responsibilities: 1. #Database Administration: - Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases - Perform database backups, restores, and upgrades - Ensure database security, integrity, and performance 2. Database Design and Development: - Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes - Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions - Collaborate with developers to integrate databases with applications 3. Performance Tuning and Optimization: - Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize database configuration - Analyze query performance, optimize queries, and implement indexing strategies 4. Troubleshooting and Support: - Troubleshoot database issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity issues - Provide technical support to developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders 5. Documentation and Compliance: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database design, configuration, and changes - Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements Requirements: Education: - #Bachelor's degree in #Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Experience: - 2-5 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration - Experience with #database #design, development, and performance tuning Skills: - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, configuration, and performance tuning - Experience with SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database modeling tools - Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking Certifications: - PostgreSQL certification (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Associate) is a plus Nice to Have: Experience with database replication, clustering, and high availability #Knowledge of #containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) #Experience with #monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, ELK Stack) What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and development,
