Job Description

What does a successful Linux Engineer do at Fiserv Implement and build the platform for the applications across varying technology stack, using Fiserv approved standard Infrastructure and set of monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics etc. The role involves Lead, design, develop and implement solutions in a complex environment consisting of various technologies Linux, AIX, VMWare and virtualisation including HA capabilities and DR setup. As a technical expert, work closely with technical leads, project teams, Product owners, testing teams and Operation teams to build and implement end-to-end Infrastructure and application functionalities. What will you do: The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years relevant experience and display a proficiency in many of the following: Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, automation, application. Perform Installation, configuration, customization, operation, recovery and troubleshooting of AIX/Linux/VMware servers in a Production and Build environment. Develop and implement strategies for migration, consolidation, and upgrade of Linux/AIX and VMware platform. Apply Patches and Upgrades as necessary. Good in Unix Scripting and should have written multiple Unix scripts. Cover on-call/Standby on rotation. Managing ticket queues for incidents/service requests & changes. Support 24x7 coverage as per Business needs. What will you need to know: 8+ years of total experience and deep understanding of the Unix/Linux OS level concepts such as process, memory allocation and network stack, understanding of how applications are affected by the above and ability to debug the same. 7+ Years in UNIX Linux scripting language such as Python, Bash, Ruby. 6+ years of knowledge on security technologies such as Kerberos and SSL and experience with toolsets such as JIRA, and Splunk, Dynatrace, Big-Fix. Demonstrated the ability in scripting and troubleshooting application errors in Linux/Unix environments with fine technical acumen. Proven experience in risk-based systems running on Unix/Linux platforms along with OS clustering, partitioning and virtualization. Hands on experience on SAN/NAS storage. 5+ years experience in monitoring Applications and analyzing the core dumps. 4+ years of experience in using Splunk, Dynatrace, Big-Fix or equivalent monitoring tools.
