Job Description

The Role:

• As a Unix & Shell Scripting Developer you have to support and enhance its IT infrastructure and application development. The role involves writing and optimizing shell scripts, automating system tasks, managing Unix/Linux environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain shell scripts for process automation, system administration, and application support.
• Work on Unix/Linux system administration tasks, including user management, process monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot and debug shell scripts to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Manage cron jobs, system logs, and scheduled tasks.
• Collaborate with application development teams to enhance software deployment automation.
• Implement and maintain file system structures, permissions, and backup strategies.
• Monitor system performance and provide technical solutions for process improvements.
• Work closely with DevOps, database administrators (DBAs), and network engineers to ensure system stability.

Skills Required:

• 3-7 years of experience in Unix/Linux environments with hands-on Shell Scripting (Bash, Korn, or Perl) expertise.
• Strong knowledge of Linux commands, process management, and system performance tuning.
• Experience in automating tasks using scripts and writing efficient cron jobs.
• Understanding of file handling, text processing (awk, sed, grep), and networking commands.
• Familiarity with SQL queries and database interactions via shell scripts.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools like Docker & Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize scripts for better execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or fintech industries is a plus.
• Knowledge of Python, Ansible, or other scripting languages is an added advantage.
